When wandering this area of Costa Rica, one aspect that will surely impact you is the brightest of the sun. It's just like if the sun was closer to you here. It surrounds everything with a bronze hue that envelope the neighboring landscape. Vast expanses of blond prairies wave charitably in the wind while small, misshapen Guanacaste trees speckle the low hills. This romantic panorama conveys a unique feeling for any visitor traversing this region of Costa Rica.
The Guanacaste district is enclosed by two mountain ranges; the Cordillera de Tilarán and the Cordillera de Guanacaste. Those deliver superb stony backdrops to some of Costa Rica's most stunning landscape. Year around is the perfect moment to visit Guanacaste. No matter if you visit it during the rainy season or during the sunny season, as both provide fantastic compensation. The rainy season drive the trees into bloom with an orchestral explosion of colors and fragrances, while the sunny seasons provide the dedicated sun enthusiast with plenty of tanning lime.
There are many towns worth visiting, like the towns of Samara and Nosara. They are filled with a plethora of hotels to fit every budget and deliver some of the most magnificent beaches of Costa Rica. Some of them may be found bordering the town, while many are to be found up and down the coast. Like playa Barrigona, a forsaken beach with white sand and bleached driftwood that will draw you in and keep you there, if only for the day.
Guanacaste is also notorious for its cattle ranches, travelers will see many ranch bordered by green pastures and careless cows.
There are so many places to visit that will lend themselves perfectly to visitors! For example, if snorkeling is your hobby, heading for Bahia Culebra located north of the town of El Coco is a must; Check the local tour operators as they offer snorkeling trips, sunset sails and fishing trips for the avid angler.
While you are here, head for Playa Ostional which is the landing spot for the olive ridley turtle. If you're in Costa Rica any time from July through December you'll find yourself entranced by the hundreds of turtles that make their ponderous way up on to the beach. Ask the locals as where to find the "bra", as it is called by them.
